I recently discovered the art of Pawel Kuczynski online, and I felt obligated to share his work. Satirical in nature, his art resonates with meaning in a similarly to the abrupt messages displayed in the art of Banksy.
Most poignant for me is the art involving children, such as “Locomotive” and “The Car”. These two in particular make me think of the use of child labor rampant in American culture, most recently brought to my attention is the child labor used to produce iPods, iPhones, iPads, and all other things Mac. While Macintosh certainly is not the sole corporation building its empire on the backs of children, it is a big one, and one I have made a firm decision not to support.
Another piece that struck me was “Speech”, where the politicians words flow through the mic and into the sewer. Is there a better representation of politics today? I’m not sure there is. Of course not all politicians suffer from this affliction, I have found that the most verbal ones certainly do, though I won’t name names.
